How to Play Telestrations

Each player starts with a sketchbook and a marker. The game begins when each player secretly draws a card and writes the corresponding word or phrase at the top of their sketchbook. Players then begin the first round of drawing, with the goal of illustrating the word or phrase.

After a minute of doodling (timed with the sand timer), sketchbooks are passed to the next player. The receiving player looks at the drawing and writes down what they think the picture represents. This process continues as the sketchbooks are passed from person to person, alternating between guessing (writing) and drawing without discussing with each other.

Once the books return to their original owners, players reveal the sometimes hilarious progression, from the original word to the final interpretation.

Scoring

Unlike many traditional board games, Telestrations doesn’t focus on strict scoring criteria. Instead, the primary goal is often to share laughs and enjoy the creativity. However, if you wish to add a point system, you can award points for most accurate final guesses or funniest deviations from the original phrase.
